Idea farm
Швеция
Добавлен 9 май 2013
Idea farm is a 750m2 recording studio, arts and nutrition complex currently under construction in a cluster of 100 year old cow barns just outside Malmö in the Southern Swedish countryside. After 20 years running recording studios in Berlin and London, Robbie Moore and Elsa Quarsell (with help from many wonderful friends) are building a sustainable factory of creativity, with beautiful accommodation, home grown food, all nestled within the breathtaking, tranquil, and inspiring surroundings.

Well done ...excellent!
We share the same birthday so your next video will be a great birthday present. I am in awe of what you have accomplished. The break is well deserved.
Enjoy it !
Always listen to your body! Your body knows...have a groovy break and I'll see y'all when you get back...looks good☮️♥️☯️
Have a restful and well earned break. See you in a few weeks!
Well deserved break mate. Been with you all the way and hope to visit you someday old chum!
This has been amazing but definitely take a break! I just finished mine and I needed atleast a week to revamp. And I didn’t build mine nearly as good as yours
Good call. Enjoy it and take it easy!
That's a good decision, take care of yourself, your family and enjoy the swedish summer!🌿🌱
chill man you are doing the dream. Build and musicians will come. Good ones we pray
Have a great and well earned break! Hope to see you all again in August 🤞
Have a great brake :)
Well deserved!!
Enjoy your break, always listen to your body. Wonderful job so far 👌🏼
Super Sounds !
You have all been working really hard and absolutely deserve to take a break !! Besides, working in the summer heat is terrible
Yeah, Ferdi is a great guy and a good friend!
Great channel very interesting and I know the feeling as have built my dolby Atmos studio in an old farm building in Czeck Republic :) Wish you and the channel all the best and safe travels Fredi :)
Thank you very much!
#freethefly 😂
Hej Im following your journey now from the beginning and its so tensioning and fascinating to watch everything progressing and all of you putting in the energy..now my question is: im thinking of travelling to sweden (from germany) in the end of july or in august before i start my apprenticeship as a carpenter and I just had the idea that maybe i could come by and help you for a few days..that could be a lot of fun i guess.. would you be interested/open for that? Greetings from Weimar, Joscha Nils
Hey Joscha thanks very much for the offer, that could work, can you drop us a message on Instagram?
@@idea_farm oh thanks for your quick response! Ill hit you up there tomorrow!
Great seeing you in the videos Furdy. Happy trails and see you back one day :)
I feel sorry for Jamie, plastered the ceiling nicely and then the crazy German with his newly invented stamper comes crushing on it 😂😂😂
I’m English!
@@idea_farm ah well that explains a lot 😀
@@idea_farm*chuckle*😂😂
Safe travels Ferdi. More than the work done, the friendship is what counts. What a wonderful space.... a beautiful spacious recording studio, beautiful land with gardens, and so much more creative outlets to come! Well done. Can't wait to hear, see, and experience all that has to come. Cheers all. Don't forget to pick up a guitar and play in between projects.
Awesome!!!🎉
Auf Wiedersehen, Ferdi! Gute Reise!
Hi, this looks amazing! I have one question: what kind of insulation is that, is it rock whool? thanks!
It’s hunton nativo.. thanks!
@@idea_farm thanks for replying this material looks amazing, what are your opinions after using it? does it keep sound in and off the studio? would you use it for other than insulation, for instance for treatment outside the walls? like in panels?
Hey no problem, I’m intending to use it for panels too.
nice doors
You dont have a clue how to make sound proof doors! Embarassing!
Really sorry I embarrassed you 😔 like I said in the video this is what I did in my last studio, which worked fine.
@@idea_farm You need to read up on how to do it properly. Small gaps take a good door from adequate to bad. Your double door was ridiculous.
@dougjane64 you don’t honestly think I’m going to leave it like that do you? How embarrassing. There will be rubber seals and double door stops.
Read up on some manners - the guy’s not even finished the full barn studio that he’s renovating - nevermind the doors.
I've found my dream youtube channel <3 working my way through the playlist now!
Legendary job!
Coming along nicely. Looking forward to the next installment. stay safe J.
A dream team
Amazing!
Haha. I can tell you enjoyed editing this one. Lots of musical editing going on. Good stuff.
Fab job :)
I did my doors almost like that a few years ago. Btw don't forget to put fine sand between the glasses to dampen vibrations.
Ah nice. How do you mean re fine sand? I’ve got 2cm thick laminated glass windows going into the doors (same mass as the mdf/drywall layers)
@@idea_farm about 2 to 4 cm high inside the void gap between the 2 tilted glasses. Mine got a interior wooden frame to mount the glass and space them. Over that wood I put a coat of fine sand to prevent vibrations. I got that idea from a tv studio I used to work at. But I am only using this between control room window and live room. Doors don't need it much.
Ps. With glass that thick + air gap sand is not mandatory. Mine are just 1cm thick.
Is that how they basically make studio doors? With all those layered gyprock pieces inside or would they build the very expensive ones out of a single piece of heavy dense wood?
I think there’s many versions out there, mass loaded vinyl layers, solid wood, metal layers, not sure they use gyprock usually
What a great builder you have by your side!! Swedish people are amazing (and so is the english i´m seeing)..Much love from Chile 💙💛🫀
And I have to say, I do like a good bit of Japanese hand saw action. My dad had some from the old days which he'd use to trim skirting boards and dado rails.
Yeah they are incredible!
@@idea_farm Incredibly expensive if you get a handmade one too. I used to used them for 1/35 model making and had a full set that cost me a bomb. Lovely tools though.
I think I would need to win a contest with a Japanese carpenter before owning a handmade one
The exterior's looking rather sexy. Did you paint the lower wall in black on the smaller building? Don't see anything that adventurous round my neck of the woods in Norway. Great episode as usual. 🤘🤘
On the smaller barn yes. It was originally dark so we basically restored it.
@@idea_farm Looks really effective and ties in the rest of the build for me.
Impressive work, fellas!!
Was he seriously bang on with the 47 minutes!? Hahaha, what a ridiculously accurate guess. Anyway! Enjoyed this one, as always - incredibly satisfying to see your progress, as well as inspiring. Thanks a bunch for this video!
He actually was.. he has a gift!
Really enjoy your stuff. Can’t wait for more music stuff too!
Great job again guys 😊👍🏼
Your voice is perfect for this song.
WoW! that was so cool. What a great opening session. You must be so pleased with how it all shaping up - Congratulations!
Thanks, yeah it was a bit surreal 🫠
Sounds amazing Robbie, what an incredible journey and achievement!
So psyched for you!
Thank you!
Congratulations This is so inspiring, As I am starting my build I needed to see this. God bless you on this amazing journey.
